Chris Cobb is quickly making a name for himself on the Sunshine Coast with his soulful voice, infectious energy, and iconic kangaroo leather cowboy hat.

 

Originally from Bulolo in Papua New Guinea, Chris blends traditional Pacific rhythms with acoustic soul—and now, a growing touch of country flair inspired by the music he grew up hearing on the two-way radio back home.

A former lead vocalist for PNG’s iconic Barike Band, Chris now performs across the Sunny Coast—from Eumundi Markets to The Boatshed at Cotton Tree and surprise spots like local bakeries or beachside busking sessions.

While rooted in grassroots venues where he can truly connect, Chris also delivers high-quality performances for corporate events and weddings.

He’s been featured on Hot91FM, performed at Woodford Folk Festival, and will soon appear on a major Australian TV show. His upcoming album reflects both his journey and his roots—with original songs as distinctive as his hat.
